On March 27th, MBA Education Center of Soochow University, together with MBA teachers and students from Tongji University, went into the global leading photovoltaic company - Canadian Solar Inc. to carry out the theme of “Pioneering Photovoltaic Storage and Sustainable Development”. The purpose of this activity is to deepen school-enterprise cooperation and help MBA students understand the development trend of the industry by visiting the frontier of the new energy industry.
| Entering the Intelligent Factory and Feeling the Power of Intelligent Manufacturing
Accompanied by the executives and engineers of Canadian Solar Inc., more than 100 teachers and students went into the smart factory of the enterprise, observed the intelligent production line of PV modules from a close distance, felt the scientific and technological charm of high-end manufacturing of new energy, and immersed themselves in the experience of manufacturing and development of the photovoltaic industry.
| School-Enterprise Exchange and Development
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Wang Fengyan, Vice President of Canadian Solar Inc. and General Manager of Power Electronics Division, expressed his warm welcome to the teachers and students of the two schools. Mr. Wang emphasized that Canadian Solar Inc. adheres to the concept of openness and win-win situation, and takes the opportunity of this university visit and exchange to join hands to build a new paradigm of integration of industry and education, aiming to cultivate the PV industry's forceful troops and the city's development witnessing officers, and injecting youthful impetus into the high-quality development of Suzhou.
At the symposium, Professor Zhao Haifeng from School of Economics and Management of Tongji University and Director Hu Yong from School of Business of Soochow University made speeches, pointing out the promotion effect of the visit on deepening the synergy between industry and education and accurately matching the needs of industry, emphasizing the support effect of school-enterprise interaction on the construction of practical teaching system, and looking forward to exploring deeper cooperation in the fields of technology research and internship base construction through the regularized exchange mechanism.
Then, Mr. Lao Guohong, General Manager of China Sales of Canadian Solar Inc. Inverter Division, introduced the unique competitiveness of Canadian Solar Inc. Group in the field of PV manufacturing: relying on the deep accumulation of new energy equipment manufacturing, creating vertical integration capabilities covering the entire PV industry chain, and forming a manufacturing system from smart factory planning to special equipment cluster linkage. Through digital twin technology to optimize the production process, combined with adaptive algorithms to strengthen the accurate control of complex manufacturing links, its innovative manufacturing model has been deeply integrated into the efficient production and quality control of PV modules, providing a replicable technology-enabled path for the upgrading of the clean energy industry.
The interactive session focused on the key issues of PV industry change, and the participants asked questions on industry development and enterprise management. Mr. Wang Fengyan, Vice President and General Manager of Power Electronics Division of Canadian Solar Inc., responded to the core issues of technology routes and global production capacity layout from the dimensions of strategic prediction and innovation synergy. Through the multi-dimensional analysis of typical cases such as heterogeneous junction technology breakthrough, geo-supply chain reconstruction, and optical storage ecological construction, the strategic mindset of the decision makers of leading enterprises was presented in three dimensions, providing practitioners with a cognitive reference system to traverse the industrial cycle.
As an important part of Soochow University MBA's “Knowing and Doing” practical teaching, this inter-university joint visit not only builds a bridge for school-enterprise dialogues, but also broadens students' horizons through inter-university resource sharing. In the future, the center will continue to promote the integration of industry and education, and create more practical platforms for students to get in touch with the frontiers of the industry.
